As the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) celebrates its 200th anniversary, we warmly invite you to the third edition of the KIT Science Week – an exciting hands-on and interactive event for curious minds of all ages and for the whole region. Here, science becomes tangible – through workshops, lectures, discussions, and interactive activities.
When? October 14–19, 2025
Where? KIT South Campus & various locations in Karlsruhe
What is it about? Under the motto “City of the Future”, everything revolves around smart urban planning and architecture, sustainable energy and mobility, digitalization and urban innovations, democracy, and a livable coexistence. Participation and fairness are also key focuses.
Various stations invite participants to try their hand as urban planners, experience an outdoor escape game, or build battery cells, fine dust measurement boxes, and recycled seating. New forms of housing and concepts for sustainable living are also on the program, along with the “Science on the Rocks” tour through Karlsruhe’s pub scene. In addition, the ARTE Film Night will feature documentaries about the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s city – from social change to new lifestyles.
More than half of the events are specifically designed for children, teenagers, families, and school classes.
